Costa Rica Day 26: Off to La Fortuna

Last breakkie at Almonds & Corals resort. I guessed because of the long time we had to wait for the eggs station the day before, this time we just had scrambled eggs ready in a huge tray. We eat a lot of eggs indeed.  It was a filling breakfast for a traveling day.

Bus ride to La Fortuna was 7hours and somewhere in the middle, the bus had some spoilt parts which needed to be replaced.  The guys helped Diego (driver) to change the parts under the rain quickly so we can shorten the delay. But we were still rushing for the hot springs, so eventually we've decided to push hot springs and buffet dinner to tomorrow and bring the free time and own dinner forward to today instead and do own time own target.

We only reached La Fortuna at about 2.45pm. Such a late lunch. I don't know if it's because I'm hungry, the food tasted great. I ordered fried rice with fish haha Chinese style. Too much rice and beans going on.. trying to vary a little if I get to choose what to eat.

Checked in at our new place. It's Arenal Country Inn and I was really excited with the pool... Immediately after we checked in, I went down for a swim... But seriously... I didn't stay there for more than 10 mins. It was a really shallow pool and not too good for serious swimming. It's meant for dipping in and float around the water.

We left the hotel at 7pm for the town area to have dinner. Irene brought us to this nice bar and grill place called "Lava Lounge".

LAVA LOUNGE - super crowded.

Apparently they help the stray dogs in the area. While we were dining, there were a lot of stray dogs wandering around our tables.  The food and drinks were surprisingly good. I had a sea bass wrap with lettuce tomato avocado and a soursop smoothie which was above average so good!!

Is this why I am buibui ?

Even the waiter told me it was a good choice cos that was his favourite drink too. Apparently the aussies aren't too familiar with the fruit soursop. But yea, I had the soursop drink before from a can when I was younger and I remembered that I really like it. It's call guanabana here in Costa Rica and the drinks are made from the fresh fruit itself, which made it even better!! Love it. Shall awkwardly end this off with a picture of guanabana juice.
