Costa Rica Day 23: Hiking day + 829 steps on the stairs

Thanks to no wifi, I slept early and well. Even though breakfast was at 8.30am, I woke up at about 7am... Ended up going down to the kitchen early to help cut up a pineapple and my plan to get breakfast first. It was pancakes!!!!!!!!!! Spammed with maple syrup and I got 2 serves of eggs from Irene (tour leader) since I don't eat the sausages :D
Today's activity was to hike and play in the nature's water slide. We had to climb on slippery rocks (some with mosses growing on them) and crossing creeks with running water. I slipped a few times and once again jellies were not the best choice. It was just the most value for money, but risking some slips and falls.
And there was this part where we had to push our butts onto the rock and slowly step sideways up the waterfall.

Something like that:

Basically I waded nearly towards the end, but my legs got stuck in the current and I slipped and fell right back into the water again!!!!! Yea and so I have to start again. But managed to do so the second time! Next is to use the rope and climb up the steep hill with running water flowing down. I was really bad at that and when I leaned back as told, I lost my balance and smacked myself onto the rocks on my left. Got myself a little scratch on my left elbow :(
But the natural water slide at the end was so worth it. it's like a water park made of nature. We only used the rice sacks bags to sit on them and slide down the waterfall. It was really up to the flow of water and our starting positions and everytime felt like a different slide. What made the slide was the last bit where we all just flew off our butts and smacked ourselves right into the water. I swear I thought I was drowning even though I'm like a gold swimmer haha. Just wasn't prepared for that.

And I realised... I lost the skill to pee in water.... Although I was super duper urgent, I really can't seem to squeeze out my pee.. I also can't pee in the wild.... Imagine during my volunteer weeks and for my 6 hours long shift, I just stopped drinking water because I know I will be so miserable if I cannot pee even if my bladder is bursting.

We lost our way in our way back to the lodge and so ended up swimming at some swimming hole with a waterfall and a fallen tree. The fallen tree was at a good angle and we can climb up the tree trunk and jump into the water from there. So much fun, for free!!
Went back to the lodge for lunch omg I swear I ate one mountain of mushroom carbonara!!!

Luckily I wasn't lazy and joined some of them to do the trail which consists of 829 steps of stairs. They aren't normal steps... Some of then are as high as 1m tall steps. It was a crazy workout and the view at the top was...... Nothing. It was really just trekking upwards and exercising. And it started raining heavily after we started trekking... Luckily we were all already wet from morning nature water park and I was lazy and didn't get changed. The steps.... were really too much man. either that or I'm really getting older... My right knee hurts so much after the trek! :(
Went back to shower and dinner time!!! We had burgers!!!!! Heh it was meh, but finally we've got dessert ! It was some strudel slice with coconut flakes and condensed milk. Not sure what it was but absolutely yumz. Super sweet and I was thinking of coffee..... But yea no coffee for dinz!!!

Day ended early again and got ready quickly and switched off the lights. Heh. Adapting well, but also glad that tonight will be my last night here.
