Costa Rica Day 19: Last shift worst shift

Today is officially the last day of our volunteering work because tomorrow is our off day and my last shift is night patrol from 7pm-12mn.

The day started at 9.30am and we made our way to beach marker number 1 (most northern part of the beach) to explore some caves and to "fall in" to the water.

There were a lot of rocks at the end of the beach and we were doing rock climbing, literally. The caves were quite interesting it's like a small hole carved from strong currents and there were bats flying around the entrance. we didn't go into the caves though. The walk and rock climbing to reach there was really tiring and I was just sitting at a shady spot to rest.

Entrance of the cave

does the rock resemble a monkey head?

Did laundry for one last time after lunch and gosh, I can't believe the water just got even blacker if there's this word. I think laundry is my worst enemy regardless of where I am. I hate it. And it's an understatement.

Went back to he station for wifi but it wasn't working again. So we played Pees & Ehs (just found out P is for president and not prisoners lolol. That makes so much sense now. Presidents and assholes.) till about 5.30pm and I went back to prepare for night shift. Omg but my luck really sucks!!!! I got the worst hand ever. I was the asshole for the longest time but managed to be commoner just before I left for home.

Last patroling shift was the worst shift ever. The sky was covered with dark dark clouds. The moon was totally covered and the entire beach was pitch dark. It was really hard to see.

And the best part was when it started to rain. Wade once said that rain in Ostional is like a miracle. Oh well, I guess I just have this shit luck.

No turtles, short breaks, strict leader, damn rain.

Imagine the rain plus my sweat. I really need to shower again before I sleep.

On a brighter note, tomorrow is my off day and we are heading off to Guiones, another town which has white sand beach, shops and amazing ice cream.

Goodbye sea turtles :)
