The end of my internship

Finally! Been working and leading a dog's life since 11 July and it has finally ended. The event was successful and I am proud to be part of it. The experience was good. I never thought I can be so involved in the ad industry even after my bad internship with a singapore ad agency branched in Shanghai. Since I started internship, I have been meeting new people, ranging from colleagues internally in the office, externally from London/Hong Kong, and all the way to international industry professionals from international ad agencies.

The people who made the impact were the people from the office, mainly the other 3 interns and 1 temp helper. One week prior to the event was the craziest period. I worked till about 11pm on an average and my mealtimes were screwed. Lunch at 4.30pm? Dinner at 10.30pm? Not surprising at all. 

Been opening parcels and carrying heavy mounted boards and boxes here and there. Simplified term: SK Warrior. Paper cuts, board cuts, skin flapping all over and leaving my nails. Not a pleasant thing to experience but for the final product, we all have to suffer a little first I guess. Having to wake up at 6.30AM monday-friday and 7AM on weekends is not easy. I am proud to say that I survived. Almost became a walking corpse but it pushes my limit to another level.

Conclusion is that adult working life sucks. I guess salary is the only motivation.. but my salary cannot even buy peanuts. Hahaha. 

Work at the office was repetitive and mundane, but what kept me going was the fragrant yinyang and good quality toast and freshly baked buns every morning. Every kopi uncle/auntie at Chinatown makes really good coffee. No joke for their experience. Speaking of that, it has been a while since I woke up early to have breakfast with my friends/parents.

Our dog lives at Mandarin Oriental. But there are free flow coffee/TWG teabags and unlimited cookies, sometimes they serve small snacks like cakes/dimsum as well. Ok can.

Rushed home for this after my very last day. Never ate home cooked more than twice throughout the entire internship period. I could die without homecooked food.
