Rebel revived

I thought it would be quite boring at Rebel and even thought of hopping over to Zouk to join Fiona. But it was quite fun. The best part is meeting my primary school friend, Jia Jia!! Everyone knows her by the name "Stella" now and to be honest, I find it weird and awkward to call her by her English name. So, I insist on calling her by her Chinese name as it's more familiar and there is a sense of 亲切感. But when I talk to her other friends, I have to refer her by her English name if not they won't know who am I talking about. Anyway, it's sooooo amazing that we have things to chat about, even after so many years of not catching up with each other.

At times, while I was browsing through my primary school friends' FB pages, I was really surprised by a few of them. Some nerdy boys became sunshine guys, and some average looking girls just *poofs* turned into swans. Really beautiful swans. Make-up, contact lenses do the job but I salute these hardworking girls because to me, beautifying your looks is considered a talent. It's not easy man. When I look back into my primary school days and imagined the past looks of my classmates, it feels good to see everyone is growing up, getting more handsome and prettier each day, entering into universities and even getting attached to pretty girlfriends/cute boyfriends. I mean, I won't be able to imagine these scenarios when their primary-school-looks (that cute and innocent face) kept flashing in my mind right! Try it! Go FB all your primary school mates, you might discover something shocking.

For me, I don't really meet up my primary school friends often. But thank goodness there's technology where we're all linked together via social networking sites. Interactions online might lose out to Face-to-face but at least there's still a connection going on. I feel that this little connection might spark something new, which I am still looking forward to it. And it's so much easier to find them online!

Anyway, Rebel felt like a total different place from the first time I went with BBJLB (virgin experience with them!!). From getting Flaming Lambo onwards, I kept wondering why my drinking straw didn't melt in that fire. I felt like a noob when I saw the fire and I was hesitant to drink. I thought I have to wait till the fire disappear before sticking the straw into the glass. But it was freaking cool to see it in front of my eyes. That was the highlight of the night. Worth it! (even though I didn't get my fave drink that night.)

Oh ya, I saw my secondary school senior too. Shows how small and well-connected SG is, which can be really cool to have so many mutual friends.

What a way to reunite with my primary school mate but who cares. We're back in contact again in just one awesome night.

TAN JIA JIA!!
