Christmas - An excuse to celebrate

What are we celebrating for? I don't know what's the meaning behind this special day, but I guess it's alright because when everyone is celebrating, it just doesn't make sense if I don't.

In the past, I don't celebrate Christmas. Celebrating is such a joyful thing to do. I think I was really a boring person. Better late than never. This year, I did quite some stuffs!

My Christmas celebration started on Thursday, 22nd December with SRC netties. Ate buffet, played some games and exchanged gifts. I think the games Limin came out with were quite interesting, especially "2 truths 1 lie". We are supposed to say 2 truths and 1 lie about yourself and the others will guess which one is the lie. Through this game, I got to know some stuffs about my team mates. Of course, many of them didn't have the adventurous spirit to say juicy stuffs. But there were a few which shocked me.

One of them had undergone cosmetic surgery. Like wow, I didn't know that. This is the best in the game. Those who said "I'm the youngest in the family" or "I like pink" can really go home. Hehe.

Another team mate got a Ferrari at home. For goodness sake, she's only year 1 in polytechnic. If only I'm a guy, confirm go after her. Hahahaha.

On Friday, I went to Mustafa! My very first visit there. It was an awesome place. So many things to look at! I freaking love the supermarket. Best of all, it is open 24 hours!! Some loots from Mustafa.

Wholemeal wraps, Mustard sauce and 400g humongous christmas toblerone.
After that, walked to The Verge and attended a Christmas party at my friend's interning company. The main focus was the lucky draw segment. I won myself $20 Sheng Siong voucher. Hehehe. There were free food and magic show. Really don't like to watch magic show because I always feel cheated.

Went for a house party at night. This is my first time attending a house party. But it wasn't what I expected. I lost my bottle of red wine (don't know which idiot stole it). Because there were so many people around, it was very difficult to "control" the situation. Everyone was perfectly sober except for this one guy who got real drunk and started making a scene. It was quite boring but well, I guess it's worth it for the free drinks and knowing more people - networking.

But because of this, I realised I have been living in the well. It's so hard to trust people. These guys made me understand this world a little better. JC kids are crazy people.

All I can say is... the government is doing a good job... OKAY LAH I SAY. Some of the army guys really got very nice figure despite all the smoking and drinking.

Took a bus back home in the morning, washed up, slept for an hour and get ready to leave for Kovan.

---

Saturday morning spent in the MRT to Kovan. Freaking long journey. Having only 1 hour of sleep is not helping much. My body felt like jelly.

Reached White Tangerine Cafe and started warming up for the performance. That was my first time performing in public so I was quite nervous. I planned to sleep early the night before so that I will be at my best spirit for the performance, but plan failed because of the house party (Never been to one before. So I wanted to explore!)

Anyway, the performance went smoothly. Really thankful for that. I was scheduled to play the third song. So I could leave early, but I stayed back a while to listen to the other performers. Ahhhhhh. Really felt so relaxed listening to good old Chinese pop songs! It makes my journey all the way to Kovan worth it.

Went home and took a short nap before getting up to countdown for Christmas (just an excuse) party! Met up with JJ, Jasline and Linden (all from Bukit Panjang yay!) and made our way down to Clarke Quay. Wa I tell you the crowd is really no joke at all. I felt like I was already at the dancefloor while walking on the streets. Have to squeeze my way through and there was a massive human traffic jam.

Got in before midnight. I think this is the first time I countdown for Christmas with so many people. Feels good! I received text wishes from Ming Xian and Jia Xun too. I felt so thankful. Who will send sms to wish you merry christmas today? You all confirm use whatsapp and forget about this poor girl who is using an old handphone. Linden was amazed when he saw my phone. He laughed like it was a joke. I don't blame him because the picture was really funny when everyone standing at the entrance was playing with their smartphones and suddenly you see this pink flip phone.

I experienced something new that night. It was crazy man. I was feeling perfectly fine and even took care of JJ vomitting in the toilet. The next thing I knew... I woke up and found myself in my bedroom.  MAJOR MEMORY LOSS!! Thank goodness for my friends I don't have to sleep on the streets.

I sat up and was shocked to see this...

After washing up, I found myself covered with bruises all over. My right eye hurts like fish as if someone punched me hard right into my eye. I earned myself several blue blacks on my knee, arms and even on my hips. There is even a mild scratch above my right eye brow. I believed someone really punched me.

I like the process of exploring my phone after a night out because there will be so many surprises. It is as if someone else took my phone, fiddle with it and ended up returning it to me.

So, my 2011 Christmas was spent sleeping.
