"First" day of work

Today is officially my first day as a full-timer. But it's not really my first day because everything else is the same. More commitment, no say over work shifts, full shifts 6 days a week.

It's not that bad and I really love my job, thus far. Heh.

Many people gave me "that look" when I told them I'm working full-time at the cafe. Generally, they will ask, "oh, just temporary one lah?"

Not sure if that's a bad thing, but I guess the service line is not very correlated to degree holders. What more a communication degree..

My neighbour also gave me that look when I told him I've found a job at the cafe. Fiona also thought that I'm over-qualified to be working there? But honestly, I don't really care. Maybe I'm just ignorant and stubborn about what I want in this short period of time. Maybe I'm just riding on the hype?

Even I'm unsure if I can make the cut.
Whatever it is, I've made this decision and there's no turning back. :)

But there's always this other side of the coin. Charles has been pushing me to convert to a full-timer ever since he went back home. If not for him, I wouldn't have mustered that much courage to jump into it. Charles I friggin love you and your super wise advices. HEHE.

My mom asked me for allowance last week, which I cannot afford to give because of my meagre salary. Thanks for that pressure, now I'm earning bucks and I can give you some too heh.

And my dad who encouraged me after I told him I'm a full-timer now! He said,"wah! now full-time liao cannot play play huh!" This simple line is enough to reassure myself. After spending so much on me and my degree, my dad doesn't mind me working at a cafe providing service to other people. How awesome?

I can really do whatever I want.

Time passed really quickly while I'm at work and I'm loving that part of work as well.

JY came with her friends today for dinner. Feels really good as if I'm hosting them hehe. But they're still paying for the service charge la. And I can eat snake while talking to them, I don't have to clear dishes and set tables and talk to strangers hehhee.

Coffee is my motivation, but you know what... There are so many things that pushes me even more. Colleagues who are understanding and always on the same page as me. Chefs and kitchen staffs who whipped up more vegetables because I'm on shift (not sure if that was for me, but that's a lot of things I can eat today). Super helpful colleagues who have so much patience to initiate guidance to me for latte art free pouring.

And friends who encourage and appreciate this transition in my life. Thank you BBJLB <3
