Costa Rica Day 1

Breakfast was amazingly good!! I like it so much. I thought I'll be having rice and beans for breakfast lunch and dinner and snack and supper. But no!!! Heh. It was fruit plate, bread with a lot of spreads to choose from. I obviously go for the peanut butter and I put the banana on the bread. The bread is like a softer version of baguette with the inside soft and skin crisp. A super salty fried egg but the yolk was runny, yet not a sunny side up!!! Just the exact perfect way I like my eggs to be!! But just that it was spammed with salt which wasn't too pleasant. Ok, main point!!!! Coffee. At first look, I was quite disappointed to see brewed coffee. Either that or filter coffee I can't tell it was already on the table. I'm not that level to tell the difference. As long as it tastes good I'm happy. Shit the black coffee was so good I didn't even have to add milk to sugar at all. Ning you'll definitely love it!! So damn yumz with all the sweet fruits and peanut butter !!! Omg. I can't even.. I'm so gonna visit their coffee plantation on Friday morning. Super willing to sacrifice my sleep for that. Hehehe.

Walked to language school for registration before a city tour and Spanish class.
This place is similar to most Asian countries surprisingly.. and the roads reminded me of Chiang Mai.

Here's a photo of the market.

Before class, we had lunch at a nearby store. A typical meal consists of rice, salad, veg and one meat. Oh and ice tea is normal here. But I had the guava juice. The rice tasted like it's cooked with spices cos it tasted salty. Not bad la.

4 hours of Spanish was really intensive. It wasn't a language that I want to learn by choice. I need to learn it since I'm here now. But once the demand is gone, there's no more motivation. The feeling of learning Spanish now is like taking the German elective in Ngee Ann. Go to class, memorise and pass the subject. But Japanese was different... I love how they speak and even if I don't need to use the language to converse, I wouldn't mind spending hours figuring out tenses, which are a pain in the ass. So complicated.

Anyway after class we went to Wal-Mart near another home stay place. And I bought haagen daaz!!!! About SGD$9!!!!

Here's me secretly eating ice cream in my room after "stealing" a spoon from the kitchen. It was already 11plus at night and I couldn't find the switch for lights... So I used my phone lights instead hahaha. it would be really awkward if they woke up and see me in the kitchen behaving like a burglar. But anyway, success!!! And I ate half pint already omg maybe shouldn't have bought one pint. should've just gotten the small mini tub.....

Black chocolate (literally). Yea non discriminatory at all. Haha learned this word in class today. Black hair = pelo negro. Hehehe.

After the Wal-Mart trip, Jacqi my housemate and I walked back with Bronte and Sarah as both of them also have their host family in the north direction. Ok, Bronte is so nice I really like her. Monash girl who just graduated from communication degree and she's into journalism. Really bubbly and cheerful and she is so cute when expressing her love for donuts! Sarah looked mixed blood, just like a more angmo-lised version of Huiyu. So pretty I find it hard not to look at her.

Dinner was served after we reached home. It started with salad with hugeass tomatoes! Then as usual, rice, fish in some tomato sauce that tasted like Italian pasta sauce, also another side dish something like a relish with corns and don't know what else... But really flavourful. And ice tea.

Mamasan spent some time teaching us more vocabs after dinner omg. So damn intense. At home also cannot rest. But oh well, she's really nice spending her time to teach us more words.. at the same time also she's learning English from us cos we were using a pictures from a book to translate.

Did homework, fell asleep, and woke up to continue again. yes I have homework wts right :( ok lah, at least I'm experiencing something different now. But I think it'll be a lot more fun if I were to do this same program in Japan .. :p

Also.. already feeling like a mute here because of the language barrier. Plus!! the Aussie game too strong I can't express myself like my usual Singlish self. Or broken English. Most of the time when I say something, they'll go like pardon?? Or hey??? Hey simi hey nnd. Sobs. It's kinda sad to know that we'll only be friends for the duration of this trip. It's hard to extend and bring this to another level.. That also encourages me not to put in too much effort in socialising.. meh, I know that kind of defeat the purpose of this trip and all the extra social events right... Oh well. I'm not going for the open bar buffet dinner tomorrow night too. Yea, I know right, I can't believe myself either. Usually I be yes!!!!! Hell yeah rooftop bar and endless flow of fooooood!!!!
Ok nuff said. Tomorrow there's gonna be cooking and dance classes before Spanish class! Oh, and really looking forward to breakfast tomorrow morning. And coffee!!!!!!!!!
