Winter hibernation

Winter break which lasted for 1.5 months, ended one week ago. It was a good break and even though I didn't manage to go back to SG this winter, I still find time a little too tight in Melbourne.

Basically, I went on road trips, flew to Sydney to find Fiona and celebrated her 21st birthday, explored a few suburbs by foot, bicycle, tram, train, v/line, bus and car. Majority of my time was spent exploring cafes, drinking coffee and having brunch.

Some alone cafe time. Brunch at a Lot 6 Cafe in school during exam period

Overcooked poached eggs on corn fritters

Heidi having my favourite hot choc from Hardware Societe

On the bus to Chadstone shopping mall

Road trip to Wilson's Prom.

6 hours drive to and fro for this. Once is enough.

Things you do after sitting in the car with lousy suspension for 3 hours

Love the beach. Pity it's winter.

Wildlife

Late dinner @ Brunetti by myself when I am too lazy to cook and want some proper food. Chickpea soup for the soul.

Tea break @ Mission Cafe. omg this cost me $9.80, but.. ohwell, it's for a good cause.

HK girl doesn't seem too pleased with the standard of dimsum here

After a night out at Beer cafe. This marked the last day of my winter break.
I took more photos when I was in Sydney with Fiona since that felt more like holidays to me. I uploaded an album on Facebook for that. Really glad that I have the chance to fly over to spend her birthday with her. Even though HF took her away for almost the whole day, it made me realised that there are a lot of people who really love her. Her mom and hf especially (and not forgetting myself). I was so touched that I cried myself to sleep that night. Of course that was when Fiona went over to hf's place.

She came to Melbourne together with me after that. We were almost always together for that 2 weeks. That made it kind of unreal when I sent her away outside college square. Felt a little empty when we said our final goodbye.

Thank goodness I survived. On the same day Fiona left, I welcomed my new room mate into my humble (and messy) crib. That was the first time meeting her. What can I say... She's sucha sweet girl. I'm really very lucky to have her as a room mate because until now, I NEVER EVER ONCE thought that she's ridiculous in terms of living habits. I'm the ridiculous one actually.

She's more health conscious than me and neater than me! Sometimes I feel obliged to clean up so that I don't get into her way. Another good thing is that her sleeping hours are more than normal. I have to remind myself to get in bed soon after her since we share one bedroom.

More yay than nay. Having a good room mate sort of brighten my life a little bit in Melbourne now.

That's basically it. Week 1 of the new school semester had just ended, even before it could register itself into my mind. It's scary.
