My life is good

I have been going to town almost everyday, indulging in all sorts of sinful food items and not working out regularly. I only ran once last week.

My automatic body alarm managed to ring later these days at about 10am, which I appreciate. I always don't get enough sleep because I am both a nocturnal and a morning person. That means... it is almost a miracle for me to sleep past 10AM in the morning. The most damage came in if I were to club. Sleeping at about 5AM is already bad enough, and not being able to sleep past 12noon isn't making things better. Haven't clubbed for more than 2 weeks! Soon soon! Rested well enough (at least I'm not sick for one entire month hahaha) for a comeback!

Some random updates below.

1) Met Amanda for a movie after our work.

We work at different places but still considered in town and a walkable distance. After I ended class at 8.30pm, I walked over to Shaw House and waited for her to end her shift. I wasn't hungry, but greedy me decided to get some dessert to munch on. Finally decided on Mc Cafe. I kinda like Mc Cafe because the prices are more pocket-friendly as compared to other coffee houses, and the quality is not bad!

"Fred Perry" Mocha

Ripped off from @mandymanda008
Even though it was just a short meetup with her, it was satisfying. The awesome feeling of knocking off work is already good enough. What's better is that my friend is also experiencing the same thing! We had a little feel of what it's like to be a working adult. It's probably gotta get more common to meet my friends up after knocking off late at night. Can't believe what's going to be worse when I start working full-time.

2) Kbox with secondary school mates + JAP BUFFET(!!)

Singing ktv? It has been awhile. Less songs to choose, less urge to sing, less strength to scream my lungs out. Kinda sad to realise that I am getting older but it's ok. Have to accept the fact and move on with my life!

Wanted to eat dinner in town area and we randomly settled on some japanese shabu shabu buffet at 313. Hahaha.. It has been awhile since I ate buffet too. Did all my favourite past times that day. I was feeling super excited and happy eating. So much food omg! So so so happy! Gorged myself to death and a bloated tummy.

3) Happy 3 Friends Dinner

Had homecooked western food with light alcohol and awesome white wine. Great environment, comforting company, and of course, the most awesome food (maybe except for the failed baked potato). The baked potato was quite hard... It would be better if it's squishy and watery and soft. Better luck/skill next time!

Here's what we got... :)

  • Appetizer (Soup) - Cream of Mushroom
Tip from the wise housewife (aka Ow Yang Jing Yi) - Homemade mushroom soup is really troublesome because have to blend mushrooms from scratch. So to save time and make your life easier, just get those ready-made ones from your nearby supermarket. We had those cans from Marks & Spencer. Personally, I don't recommend Campbell's because I don't like how the cream clumps up together. M&S is really quite good. The cream isn't too gao(thick) and so won't get too sick of the cream after a few spoonfuls. Garlic breadcubes can be bought from any supermarkets. I got mine at NTUC. Ground some fresh pepper on top and there you go!

  • Main Course - Baked Salmon (seasoned with pepper, salt and lemon)
Half grilled the salmon steaks and baked till fully cooked. Plain sweetness and tasty salmon flesh without any taste disruptions from sauces.

The sides were boiled broccoli, carrot cubes, baked potato and Heinz baked bean in tomato sauce. I got Heinz because I remembered from my Marketing lecture, I was told that it is the number 1 brand for tomato sauce. Hahaha. I guessed it is really true since QQ can recognise the brand just by smelling.

  • Beverage - Somersby Apple Cidar
NTUC now got offer!! $15.90 for 4. That's the reason why I got it in the first place. Didn't even know its existence before that. Tasted not bad! Something like fizzy apply juice.

Must have it chilled. (WA QUITE THIRSTY NOW)

One for each of us.

JY ITCHY HANDS

  • Dessert - Lemon cake with dried fruits & nuts

I asked JY whether she prefers Ice-cream or cake for dessert and she said cakes! Same sentiments. I was also craving for cakes these days. Chocolate marble cakes, bread wrapped with cakes, cheesecakes, chocolate fudge cakes, fruit cakes omg... The list is never ending...

But anyway, I had a bit of time in the afternoon so I decided to quickly bake a simple cake. At least I know what I'm eating when I'm the one making it. Fortunately or unfortunately, I didn't know my mom used up all the butter blocks I bought for baking purposes and therefore, no butter! NO BUTTER HOW TO BAKE CAKE?! So out of desperation, I used the butter spread which was quite expensive because it is LITE and made with OLIVE OIL. HEALTHY MA?! hahhaa. I put quite little only though. I think I only put 25% of the required amount for both butter AND sugar. No wonder the cake came out so damn dry, but it was quite delicious because the dried fruits and nuts are very sweet, compensating the pathetic amount of sugar I put in.

WE FINISHED EVERY SINGLE PIECE.
Thank you so much for the support JY and QQ!

All down in our tummy.

Cross-section. It was quite soft inside but not spongy? I have no idea why. But can eat means successful la hor.

Top-up with some strawberry syrup yum-tum-tum.

Talked quite a bit and QQ updated me with his life recently. It was a good catch up with him. Always catching up with JY so doesn't matter, but JY's presence is more than anything else. Forced them to drink white wine with me and ended the night with a small game, plus some *ahem* videos.

Thank you for accompanying me stay up the night because netball match was postponed and it was an off day for me last Saturday.

happy 2 friends

AND yes, my life will get better. Till then, don't be jealous.
