Singapore National Barista Championship 2016 started off with a boomz today. Events like this are always exciting, yet tiring and soul-draining.
Not only for the organisers, also to all helpers, exhibitors, traders, and competitors.
This is also my first time getting involved in the training sessions, helping around as a dishwasher, runner, packer, juicer and audience. Of course, the main thing is to give moral support to my fellow colleagues who are competing.
Lack of sleep for a few days was already so taxing for me. Can't imagine the competitors who started this torture a month ago.
After listening to Joefel's speech for x number of times, I can already remember his pointers. Seeing how he performed today made me feel so excitement and adrenaline as an onlooker.
Reggie's performance was overflowing with love and passion. Her presentation style suited her warm and sweet personality. Guess this is why we love our head barista so soooo much.
Tomorrow will be Zenn's turn. Finals on Saturday. Very intense week, but am loving every bit of it.
Saw so much, learned a little bit more about coffee and met awesome awesome peeps from the industry.
Today I survived with free coffee from Populus! haha. We even borrowed blutack and tape from them to secure Joefel's latte art competition photos.
Can't be more thankful for this rare opportunity to get off shift and experience the expo. :)
