Not trying to act atas mama or indie hipster here. I just love the bittersweet taste in coffee generally. Not an addict (yet) but would choose coffee over any other hot beverages anytime especially when it is in the morning!

Green Tea Latte @ My Sweet Memory (Sydney) |
This is not coffee and it was too sweet for my liking. But the latte art is so pretty. Ever since I bought the plunger from the market, I started making my own coffee at home and only used instant coffee when I'm rushing for time.

This is my best attempt |
And also, I get to pour steamed milk on my own when I order long mac. But still not very talented...

Enough of my own rubbish, I had a few photos of latte art from Melbourne and Sydney. I drink coffee almost everyday so it doesn't make sense to take picture everyday, but a good latte art really helped in brightening up my day. Sometimes a bad cup of coffee (for me a bad cup of coffee is one that's not hot enough and milk taste overpowering the coffee aroma) can indeed make me feel uneasy and grumpy.

I still love our cheap and affordable nanyang kopi though... It tastes different so I can't choose one over the other. But the other day after one glass of kopi c kosong (only with evaporated milk), I felt dizzy for the whole day. Hahaha seriously... I better stick to condensed milk for nanyang kopi.
I got myself a part-time job at Strangers' Reunion thanks to Ning.. Because of the Magic coffee I tried at Proud Mary, Ning told me that it is also available in Sg so she showed me the link to their FB page. Just nice they were hiring at the moment so I just randomly sent in an email when I was still in Melbourne. The manager told me to call her and that was what I did when I came back to Singapore. Went for interview and work trial and before I even realised what I was doing, I got myself a summer job!! And you know what's the best part? FREE COFFEE with latte art!!!!! The baristas can really whip out some impressive latte art.
When I first applied for the job, I had the intention of picking up the skills of steaming milk but the manager said that everyone starts from the floor. I'm really happy to do it and I look forward to working. The low pay doesn't even matter to me anymore. Even though it's tiring, I felt fulfilled and happy, very happy. The people working there had this default black face, but they are nice people to work with.
I guess I did the right thing since my friends in Singapore are busy with work/school right now. My mom was pretty shocked when she knew about my part-time job. Everything happened so quickly I didn't expect my summer break in Singapore to be like this. Days when I didn't have shifts on, I will just stay in the entire day to rest/rot/eat (homecooked!!!) and maybe exercise.
At the same time, I've yet to eat yakun and old town!! More nanyang kopi please!! AND AL AZHAR. AND DIMSUM.
