A Friday at Brunswick Street

Friday with no classes and work pressure is the best! Week 5 was crazy so I decided to reward myself with a work-free weekend. My weekend starts on a Friday so yea!!!! Huiyu has been raving about this fish and chips place on Brunswick St for the longest time. Finally we made time for it. Brunswick St is a stretch of road with many boutique stores and nice food places good for chilling - think Tiong Bahru maybe? But less cramped up and A LOT MORE GRAFFITI.

Hooked was the place great for fish and chips. It was my second time eating fish and chips here. Hahaha, yep, so much for being in Australia! I had more Asian food than ever. I love the concept of the store. Every decor worked well and blended into one another. The colours were warm, probably because of the wooden furnishings.

Really don't mind just sitting here and catch up with my friends

Off to sail. Behind the maroon "brick" wall was the fridge for beverages.

Fish and chips lunch box with super salad. Wa the fish really super fresh and the oil was so clean!

After lunch, we went to Babka, a cafe inspired by russian dolls, Babushka. Huiyu loves the lemon tart and told me that it could bring her to dessert heaven one round and back. How not to try!

Lemon Tart and Almond Croissant
Really no joke. The texture of the lemon custard was soft, yet at the same time, firm. It melts at the pace of your saliva surrounding it. I really don't know how to describe but the texture was soooo good. Must buy whenever I on Brunswick St. The top layer was creme brulee which made the combination of soft, firm and crisp. Enough said homg.

Almond Croissant was special, different from those I got from the supermarket or other cafes in Uni. But nothing to hype about. There are other popular tarts like the pear crumble something. Huiyu and I are definitely going back for more.
