忘本

Parents, and even grandparents were seen all over campus, checking out uni for their precious child/grandchild. How lucky.

This morning, an Indonesian grandfather accused my boss of forgetting her parents, her roots by abandoning her home country to work in Melbourne. From what I know, she just returned to Melbourne from her maternity break.

What's the point of keeping the person in the country when the heart isn't there. Sometimes distance works wonder. I feel that we treasure more when presence is absent. The string of distance draws our hearts closer. Relationship with my family becomes better knitted.

If mr indon grandpa is upset, he shouldn't even consider sending the treasured grandchild away to study.

Today marks the first day of work. It's tiring, it's tough, it's fun, it's fresh.. Had stopped working in a long time but this feeling of working felt... good... I just need some time to get used to it. Forget about monetary returns and focus on the process.

On the other hand, I don't know why I chose to do this. I could've spent the time on other things such as sleeping. I seldom get sufficient sleep. Tell me I made the right choice yea?
