Virgin experience of losing my wallet.
You know how things like that happened and the entire group's spirit just plunged? I hated that whenever some bad things happened to my friends and the mood turned into total sian-ness. And I never understood that...
Today, life had decided to let me understand this feeling of losing something and to be responsible for the consequences. I tried my best to keep my calm and not to drown everyone's mood. That's the last thing you wanna feel one day after the end of exams right...?
My friends were really sweet. While I was making calls to terminate my local debit card and singapore credit card, they tracked back and tried to find my wallet. Even went to the security and checked with the lost and found.
I did not get it back in the end and I'm pretty sure that it was stolen because I'm not someone who will leave my wallet anywhere out of my sight unattended. My bag didn't have a zip. That probably explained why.
We went for a movie and dinner afterwards. I was definitely affected by it, but honestly, I kinda forget after a while and only remembered when I needed to reach out for my wallet for money to pay. Everything is alright now and I am feeling okay. Lesson learned. Can't be too complacent even in a safe country here. It was partially my fault because I didn't even lose anything when I was in Shanghai. Shows how complacent I am here... Even before this incident, I dropped $20 (or was it $30? haha goldfish memory) during my first few weeks here. Or maybe it was pickpocketed. Either that, or it slipped out from the pockets of my jeans.
Anyway, poor pickpocket. That's so sad of your life. Risking all consequences of being caught and labelled as a thief just to own my wallet with a pathetic $10 inside. Yea, good for you as another 4 cups of coffee on the loyalty card can get you one cuppa free coffee. The rest of the cards are pretty useless. I don't put photographs in my wallet so you can't perform any black magic even if you wanted to curse me for only having $10 in my wallet. I pity you, really.
You could use my Myki card (ez-link card equivalent) which has credit of $35.40 but sigh, thank goodness for Australia's system, I blocked the card because I registered my myki online. Honestly, I never thought this would come in handy. Phew~
The only valuable item is the wallet itself. It was a birthday gift from one of my closer friends and it took me quite a while to start using it because I really like it and just wanna keep it as the newest form. I believe in Karma. Probably because I took one whole huge roll of toilet paper from the school toilet home and now, I'm losing something as well.
You pathetic pickpocket, I'm sure you will lose something of special value to you soon.
