Recall 2012

 

This was what I wrote down at Nicholas Wong's place when I was at the first few minutes of 2012. During that period of time, I wasn't very appreciative to the things or people around me and all I wished was to be contented with whatever I have. I guessed it all didn't go so well because I totally didn't have this thought in my mind through 2012 until JY sent me this recently. 

In 2012, there were many drama mama moments. I felt the best, and the worst. I got distracted and slowing getting back on tracks. This cycle is never ending but I dare say that it is one remarkable year.

Jan 2012 

I was still in NP so it was mostly filled with school projects and work on the weekends. 

• JY turns 20 and we had brunch at Crystal jade. 
• OCS Commissioning Ball at Shangri-la and the after party at ZOUK. 
• Daisy Tan Netball carnival

Feb 2012

Final month of school with the mad rush of project submission, presentations, and studying for exams. 

• Moved back to the newly renovated house - crazy shitass packing and unpacking.
• Coronation plaza's Starbucks as my second home because I studied damn hard. I would lompang my father's car in the morning there and camped there till he picks me up at night when he's going home. The latest was about 10.30pm. I iz nerdz. 
• "Last exam paper" Party at ZOUK
• Spring Awakening 
• Mayday Concert
• Sang at Teoheng ktv and threaded my brows with bbjlb.

Mar 2012
School is officially out. Back to the hardcore partying.

• BMW event with Fiona and met Beng Hao (under good lighting) for the very first time. He was working at the event.
• Met this guy at Zouk but he flew my aeroplane for dinner (totally mia) after he added me on FB. He deleted me instantly afterwards. But his life story was quite memorable. His gf for 8 years ditched him for a butch when he enlisted.
• Got myself another teaching post at Sonata Music House
• Song Composing Club Annual Concert
• First, and the last Zumba class 
• My Aunt got married!
• Got super infatuated with A&F guy
• Nylon launch party + Benjamin's Birthday Party @ ZOUK
• Experienced Rx8, GTR, A5
• Cristofori Annual Retreat - Bintan trip

Apr 2012

• Applied for a job at A&F but failed
• ALCM Piano Examination
• FINALLY changing to a smartphone
• My father tio 4D and had a feast at YUMMY Recipes
• SRC Annual Sports Salute Night
• I turned 20 (Toastbox -> Swissotel -> ZOUK)
• First public piano performance 
• First time receiving a bouquet of roses (and I hope that's the last because flowers don't last)
• Bangkok trip with Fiona, Nicholas, Soon Eng, Keefe, and Yu Xiang
• I was sick for the whole of April. 

May 2012

• Mambo night with Christian (we bought a bottle and when the uncle asked us how many cups we need... Christian and I looked at each other and said, "2 cups..." I can still remember the uncle's epic expression) 
• Experienced Meserati and tunnel photo shoot for cars
• Graduation Dinner
• Cried badly while driving back home from upp thomson 
• Graduation Day 
• Graduation Party at ZOUK
• Fiona's farewell party at ZOUK
• FINALLY went to JB after 6 years
• Felt lost in life because I couldn't get into local uni
• Started piano lesson with my cousin

Jul 2012
Workaholic life starts. It was crazy! I do internship work on weekdays office hours and teaching job on Saturdays AND Sunday. On top of that, after office hours on weekdays, I was learning piano on Mondays, had netball training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and teaching 2 classes on Wednesdays. My only rest time was Friday evening but was never tgif because I had to work on Saturday MORNING at town area. Oh yes, I usually knock off by 2pm on Saturdays, but I had to get back to the west to give my cousin piano lesson. Despite all that busy schedule, I managed to party at Zouk for a few times. July is also the month with many sleepless nights.

• First time dining at Tony Roma and meeting Peiqi (QQ's gf) for the first time

• First time to Filter Members' Club and eventually club walked to ZOUK
• First time to dine at Marche
• Army enlistment starts

Aug 2012
Super busy with work so I didn't really note down my schedule. Could only rely on twitter timeline to recall the events. I think my life was just WORK and ZOUK and TONS OF KOPI O!!!

• Checked in Zouk Wine Bar on 3rd August (FRI) - This fatal check-in...
• Went for IDP and applied for Australia Universities
• Partied on 8th August at ZOUK and witnessed the worst drunk ever
• Won passes and free Heineken to their Green Room 10TH Anniversary party at ZOUK (Went with Benghao and met Sherwin)
• BBJLB found out I have a rabbit at home
• Student concession pass expired, bought an adult ezlink card :(
• Applied for a job at A&F again and failed again
• Almost killed a rat while jogging
• SRC Presidential Charity Event
• Gambled outside KAP McDonalds 
• Started talking to hkm
• Imperfect movie premiere - Me, JY, and Amanda sneaking my underaged sister into the theatre

• ZOUK party to celebrate the end of my internship and farewell for Amanda
• Saying goodbye to Amanda (flying off to UK for Uni)
• Worked till brain fried 
• Piano Audition for Unimelb's music conservatory
• Spikes Asia Judging - Report to work at Mandarin Oriental for a few days
• Spikes Asia Award Ceremony
• After Party at Avalon (Drunk, blacked-out, and woke up at Angela's place)
• First time trying dimsum at 126
• Ginger's brother got married!
• Late night ice cream fix at Udders, Midnight KTV and breakfast at Chinatown with hkm and Ning (one of the best nights ever)
• My mom's birthday!

• Beng Hao turns 20 (Birthday party -> Gamble)
• Conquered Bukit Timah Hill with Ning and Belinda (THE MUSHROOM ANGEL)
• Brunch at Spruce with Ning, Belinda and JY
• Found out some ridiculous FB messages (More quarrels with the boyfriend and trust issues)
• LLCM Teaching diploma written submission deadline
• Stopped my weekend teaching job

• Ladies' Night with Charmaine at ZOUK (First time driving to club and is able to drink)

• Filming for a Channel U show as a "talent" (Receptionist with a line HAHA)
• Taiwan Trip with the SRC Netball team

• Xmas dinner with hkm, his mom, and his nephew
• New Year Eve dinner with hkm before his work

That's my year summarised in point forms. I didn't realise I club every month until I work this list out... Anyway, if you think I'm leading a slacker's life ever since graduation, you are wrong! After my last paper in poly, I've been working on ALCM. After getting through that exam, I went for a short trip to Shanghai, and back for preparations for the next diploma LLCM. But I went crazy and got myself an internship. I'm glad I did because I learned a lot. Chiong studies full mode for LLCM after September and passed the exam in December. I WAS SUPER STRESSED UP because of the time constraints... ALCM in April and LLCM in December was a rare case. Time was really tight because I'm leaving for Melbourne in Feb 2013 so I had to pass LLCM by 2012 (the next exam date is March/April, and I'm already in Melbourne by then). 

I just want to clarify that my life ain't all about drinking and partying. 

"Be contented with what I have and not complain about what I don't." 

This was my thinking one year ago. People do change. I change. I will still continue with the complaints, but one thing for sure, I truly APPRECIATE the things that I have. It's just that I feel that I shouldn't be contented with what I have because I NEED and will work harder for more things to come by.

I was dealing with some emotional injuries for the first few days of 2013 that's why I'm a little late for this new year post. I hope for a better 2013 ahead. I've gone through loads of drama in 2012 (I wished for it before) so it's enough already. Happy 2013, I just want a simple year and a healthy family, friends and me. I've done too much in 2012... Just let me take a break this year. A long term break at a slow paced city... Uni life... Lying on the grass... Ahhhhhh...
